Meet Bob Lichty

Prior to the founding of Motorcar Portfolio, Bob Lichty was the executive director of the Canton Classic Car Museum a nationally recognized institution, with a fine collection of pre-war Classic cars. He is past president of the national Lincoln Highway Association for which he co-chaired a 3300 mile historic highway tour across the United States and played a key role in writing the congressionally mandated "Lincoln Highway Study Act of 1999". Prior to returning to his home area of northeastern Ohio in 1995, Mr. Lichty was marketing director for the world famous Blackhawk Collection in Danville, California. Earlier in his career, he held management positions with notable collector car industry companies including, Hemmings Motor News, Old Cars Weekly/Old Cars Price Guide, and Carlisle Productions, promoters of the countries largest commercially run vintage auto events. He has also served as an automotive consultant to several major internet sites including Collector Car Trader Online and The Eastwood Company. Lichty has authored five books on vintage cars, authored hundreds of magazine articles and his art work as adorned many hobby periodicals. Books included; the History of the AACA, and co-authored with Terry Boyce of The Hurst Heritage. He has served on the advisory committee for both Old Cars Price Guide, NADA Price Guide and Kelley Blue Book. As a nationally noted appraiser he has frequently performed expert testimony, and served as a trainer for Auto Appraisal Group. He was also team leader for the appraisal of the 3000 car LeMay Auto Collection, and the S.R. Miller Museum Collection. Mr. Lichty attended Cooper School of Art majoring in advertising and graphic design leading to his long career in automotive publishing and marketing. Lichty, is a popular public speaker on the subjects of auto history, car values, and historic highways. His is also active in many regional civic and national automotive associations. Lichty's lifelong interest in special cars date to his childhood. Numbering in the hundreds, cars Lichty has owned over the years have included several 427 Fords, a Shelby GT350, '63 Corvette coupe, a '70 Abarth OTAS, several Citroens, several fire engines, a Chrysler 300G, several vintage Packards and many more too numerous to list.

Lichty resides in the city of Canton, Ohio with is wife Rosemary Rubin a local attourney. He has two sons and two granddaughters.
