1963 Chevrolet Corvair 95 Corvan, model R-1205, Bell Telephone panel van work truck. A rare, find. It is our intention to restore this truck in the livery of the Bell System again. It is going to need some body work. We have recently gone through it mechanically and is running and drivable. Clutch is good. New battery. We installed all new brakes front and rear. Since it is a work in progress you will find the price will be going up as we complete more aspects of the restoration. So, posted price is subject to change. This truck has the correct 145 ci./95 hp. flat air cooled six with a 4-speed manual transmission, rear Ratio 3.89. It has windows in the side and rear doors which is how the majority of Bell Telephone trucks were ordered. (A Corvair restorer tells us he has seen other configurations as well but we have not). It has unique rear helper springs for the weight of equipment and a place in the cab roof for a spot light mount. It is one of only 11,161 Corvans built in 1963. We are not sure what percentage were sold to Ma Bell. Includes a pair of rust free rear doors.
