1949 Lincoln 9EL L-72 Description: 1949 Lincoln Model 9EL L-72 , "Baby Lincoln" 2dr Club Coupe. Based around the Mercury body, the much rarer Lincoln Club Coupe looks like it was already customized with it's factory tunneled headlamps and taillights. Only 5748 L series coupes were built in standard and Lido trim. Very similar to the James Dean-style Mercury's but with wilder looks and a bigger flathead V8.
The car has had a pampered life and has been in the same family 35-40 years after bringing the car to Ohio from California. The owner kept it as his pride and joy collector car until his passing. We got it from his son.
These Lincolns came with a 336.7ci Flathead V8 145 hp and 3-speed stick with overdrive to compensate for the 4090 pound shipping weight. Performance was nimble with Lincoln winning two Grand National races in 1950.

Our black beauty has mostly original paint. Now on display in our showroom and it is spectacular. We owned this car once before a couple years ago, it has not aged a bit and we were glad to get it back knowing what a great car it is, you will too.
